formed. is built to help families disciple their children through everyday moments. We take your family's privacy seriously and are committed to protecting the trust you place in us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account information: your name and email address, used to create and sign in to your account.
Family information: the names, ages, and context you share about your children and family — such as what your family is walking through, prayer needs, and check-in reflections — so we can personalize blessings, devotions, conversations, and prayers.
Church information: if you connect through a church partnership, your church's name, branding, and any resources or themes your church shares.
Usage and reminders: your reminder preferences (days and times you choose) and basic activity such as which daily steps you've completed, so the app can encourage your next step.
Payment information: when you purchase a membership or partnership, checkout is handled securely by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

To create and personalize your family's daily content.
To deliver the in-app reminders you've chosen, at the times you've selected.
To connect your family to your church partnership, if applicable.
To send you invitations, account setup emails, and occasional pastoral check-ins related to your use of formed.
To maintain and improve the app, and to provide support when you reach out.

Device Features We Access

Notifications: we use in-app reminders to gently prompt your next step. These are delivered while the app is open and do not require lock-screen push permissions.
Local storage: we store a draft of an in-progress family check-in on your device so you can resume without losing your reflections.

We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photo library, Bluetooth, or speech recognition. The only audio feature is text-to-speech — reading a blessing aloud using your device's built-in voice — which is processed locally and does not listen to or transcribe your voice.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your information. We share data only as needed to operate the service — for example, with our hosting and payment providers under their own privacy safeguards. If your family is connected to a church partnership, your church administrator can see that your family has joined and basic activation information; the personal reflections and context you enter remain yours and are not shared with your church.

Data Retention & Your Choices

Your information is kept for as long as your account is active. You can edit or remove your family information at any time within the app, and you can request full deletion of your account by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your personal data from formed.

Children's Privacy

formed. is designed for parents to use on behalf of their children. Children do not create their own accounts. Any information about a child is provided and managed by their parent, who controls what is shared and can remove it at any time.
